Though the theatre’s stunning facade boasts a number of quirky features, including the venue's name standing tall on its uppermost part, its unique interior is certainly no less charming. The floor of the open hall is bedecked in colourful Maltese tiles, whilst its magnificent blue stage is adorned with decorative columns.
Despite its seating capacity of 1,200, there is only one balcony, and this, like many other parts of the building, is resplendent with Spanish decor.
Though rarely used for theatrical purposes nowadays, the theatre has, over the years, hosted a variety of performances, from plays to heavy metal concerts, and even served as a video setting for the 1980’s band Black Sabbath!
