The MPO returns to Teatru Manoel for a chamber concert featuring MPO musicians interpreting a varied programme of intimate oeuvres.

Composed for himself and his cellist friend Nikolaus Zmeskall, Beethoven humorously titled this delightful work Duet for viola and cello “with two eyeglasses obbligato”. Weber’s intricate masterpiece Gran Duo Concertante for clarinet and piano exudes brilliant virtuosity by both instruments alike. The French horn and harp showcase their lyrical beauty with Saint-Saëns’ Romance, Duvernoy’s Deuxième Nocturne and Franz Strauss’ Nocturno.
